How To Establish A Strong Brand For Your Business

We all know how effective a strong brand is to companies like Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike, Google etc. They are all very recognisable and we instantly know the company and what they do from their brand.

Strong Branding Logos

Sometimes as small business owners or solo entrepreneurs we’ve got so many other things to do that we put off establishing a brand image until we’ve got everything else up and running.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to re-brand, I just came across a really cool website tool that I wanted to share to help with this.

It’s a free search tool that allows you to enter in say a couple of words that you might like to use to describe your business and you can quickly see at a glance whether this would be good to use.

In today’s online focused world, branding across social media platforms and website names etc is so important. Ideally you’d want to have one ‘name’ or combination of words/letters that you can use for all the social media platforms you want to be active on.

So if you came up with ‘specialname’ to use for your business, is it available on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and as a .com domain eg

I recommend you check out, where you’ll get an instant view of what is available across multiple platforms. It’ll save you a heap of time compared to checking this manually. So this is a great way to very quickly see whether you can use the same words/letter combo for all those places that you’d like to have an online presence.

Of course, it’s not essential that you use the same ‘specialname’ across all accounts if it’s not available. However, it is so much better if you can establish one common name as it looks professional and makes it easy for those who want to connect with you, find you on different platforms.

I thought this was a really helpful resource, so I wanted to share it here so you can use it to help in the process of getting setup with a strong brand for your business or online presence which is, ideally, consistent across the different online platforms you want to feature in.

I’ve also included below an infographic with more info and interesting stats to help with branding on social media – hope this helps too 🙂

What did you think about the search facility on – did you find it helpful? Feel free to share this post with others and please leave a comment below and let me know what you found helpful or if you plan to use this to establish a consistent brand for your business or online profile.

      Hello Lynn,

Good information here. I tried the namechk tool and I like the way it works. It saves a ton of time chasing down thru all the social media sites to see if the domain you want to use makes sense. The infographic is so very valuable in evaluating and understanding what we need to focus on in today’s world if we expect to be successful.

Thanks for bringing this all together in a single article.

Thanks David, I’m glad you liked Namechk. It was just one of those useful websites I came across and thought it would not only help me but others too, hence the blog post 🙂
