The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz is a brilliant book and inspires me every time I read it.  The ideas in this book can be life changing so I’d like to share a few of the insights I’ve learnt. I hope you too will be inspired to ‘Think BIG’ and to take on-board what I share below.

Believe You Can Succeed … and You WILL

The following is a collection of winning thoughts and ideas that David Schwartz shares in the early part of his book which I think are worth taking time to reflect on.

Winning Thoughts

  • Success is determined not so much by the size of one’s brain as it is by the size of one’s thinking!
  • Practical studies showed that the size of a person’s bank account, the size of their ‘happiness account’ and the size of one’s general satisfaction account is dependent on the size of one’s thinking.  There is magic in thinking BIG.
  • Believe you can succeed and you will.
  • A person is a product of his own thoughts.  Believe big and grow big.

Defeated Thoughts

The “OK I’ll give it a try but I don’t think it’ll work” attitude produces failure.

Think doubt and fail.   Think victory and succeed.  Which will you choose?

It is a choice – so you and you alone determine the results in your life.  Belief is the thermostat that regulates what we accomplish in life.

A person is a product of his own thoughts.  Believe big and grow big.

So, believe in yourself and believe you can succeed.

You might be asking, if ‘Thinking Big’ accomplishes so much, why doesn’t everybody think that way?   It is because we are largely a product of the thinking around us and much of this thinking is little, not big.

So consider these words and think about those you surround yourself with.  Are they thinking big or do they keep you back from thinking big?  Choose carefully the people who influence your life.

Disraeli said “Life is too short to be little.”

“Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.”
