Get Repeat Traffic To Your Website

Once you get visitors to your site you’ll want to keep them coming back time and again. So how do you get repeat traffic to your website?
You’ll know that traffic is the lifeblood of your business, so your goal is to get lots of high quality and relevant traffic coming to your site, staying on your site and returning often.
So what are some of the ways to achieve this?
Ask Yourself These Questions?
-
Do my visitors find what they are looking for on my website?
-
Do my visitors find the answers to their questions or needs?
-
Do my visitors have a good reason to come back to my site? This is, of course, how you’ll get repeat traffic to your website.
-
Do I even have a blog? How do you expect to get repeat traffic to your website without a blog?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, then you need to make some changes to your website.
Remember, to get repeat traffic to your website you need to think like your prospect/client/customer thinks and see your site as they see it. They will not be familiar with your website as you are, so can they find what they need easily and quickly? People have such a short attention span online that if they encounter problems, or your site is not easy to navigate or get what they want, they will leave very quickly.
Think like your prospect to boost your sales.
Some Solutions to Implement
Here we’ll look at some solutions you can easily implement to get repeat traffic to your website

-
Start by using the latest traffic generation methods – more on this later.
-
Be consistant in posting fresh content onto your website. This really is important. All too often folks get off to a great start and are posting up new content every day. Then after a while they lose some momentum and enthusiasm and the posts start to become less frequent until it is sporadic at best. The way to overcome this is to plan your blog posts out in advance. I suggest you start with a 30 day ahead plan for the detail of what you will write about and have a longer term plan of the topics you’d like to cover in the year ahead.
-
So to get repeat traffic to your website you should be publishing blog posts on a regular basis, ideally daily. I cover more about this on another post I’ve written called Blogging For Business Made Easy
-
Also be sure that your blog posts are relevant to what your site visitors want to read? I talk more about your content being relevant in this same blog post. You’ll want to make sure you capture the attention of those visiting your site and always be thinking about answering their questions or their needs as they come to your website.
-
So to get repeat traffic to your website you’ll need to provide content that offers a solution and be consistant in posting up fresh information for your returning visitors to read.
-
You’ll also want to give some thought to the title you’ll use for your blog posts as you’ll not only want to grab their attention but you’ll want to draw them in to actually read your post.

-
You need to have a strong ‘call to action‘ on your blog post. That can vary depending on what your objective is. You may for example want to give them a strong incentive to subscribe to your email list. That way you’ll be able to communicate with them on a regular basis via your pre-written auto-responders and broadcast messages. I’ll be sharing more about the whole subject of sending emails to your list in my blog posts soon.
-
You should vary the content you share so that it is more than just text. So from time to time, you should also include videos, audios, infographics etc.
-
Make sure your blog post is easy to read in terms of good layout, graphics, headings etc. I’ll be covering more about this in detail very soon.

Get Repeat Traffic To Your Website

Lynn,
Thanks for the advice. I’ve learned a fair bit about good layout from reading your blog.
Would you suggest consistently making a call to action on every post?
Thanks.
Dylan.
Hey Dylan – great question. I think it depends on the purpose of your blogsite. If you are blogging for business then yes I’d say you should always have a call to action. Could be to join your list, could be to offer a free webinar training, could be a link to a product you recommend. So when you think about the purpose of your blog and what you ultimately want to achieve from your blogsite then this will determine what call to action is appropriate.
However if you were blogging as a hobby and just wanted to share ideas, pictures, updates etc with your readers there probably is no reason to have a call to action on this sort of blog.
So know the purpose of your blog and what you want to achieve from it. If for business then there is a purpose to your blog and that should be to invite your readers to take action.
Hope this helps,
Lynn
Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I suppose that there are so many kinds of blogs with all different types of goals and reasons for writing them.
People can write multiple blogs for very different reasons and I can see that a call to action can be appropriate every time, sometimes or not all!
Thanks.
Dylan.
